Day Nine

It just hit me right now, how I should have done something special for today, more than what I did. Because its Day 9, or Day[9] of my challenge to myself and all I did was cook myself something I had never done before.
That's it, just some vegetable fried rice. I actually forgot the chicken and the egg to go with it, so it wasn't much, just something I had never tried to cook for myself before. I wasn't bad, nor spectacular, so I guess it was just a meal. The ninth day is a special day though, that should be celebrated.

I would direct everyone, if there is anyone to read this, to day9.tv .

At this site is a daily updated video blog done by a shoutcaster and player known as Sean "Day[9]" Plott for the popular game developed by Blizzard Entertainment, Starcraft 2. He is a figurehead in the community around the game, generally known as an intelligent, motivated, and generous source of comedy and knowledge. I like the guy, you should check him out as well as others like him.

I became completely obsessed with the game over the last summer, so much so that I recently bought a year subscription to a Korean gaming tournament that houses the woulds finest matches. Its like buying a subscription to action chess between space humans, mouthless psi-aliens, and bug monsters. And I love it. The dynamic games that are produced, the momentum swings, its fascinating.

Sites like Twitch.tv, Own3d.tv, and wellplayed.org all house streams of people of high caliber playing. Its what I turn to when I am bored or am in need of something stimulating outside of the written word and literary scene.

But instead of a plug, I will leave with a few notes from Sam. You can find Sam's thoughts regularly at her blog over at http://themodernprometheus.net/. We were walking on Sunday to a friend's home and she gave this bit of wisdom:

"Vaginas are like flowers, Penises are like Ladder. Penis get you places, they are useful in some situations, and can move you up higher in life just because you have one. Nobody has every wanted to paint a ladder though, there's no spirit to it."

I thought there was something to that.
